See it in action

A minute with Epic Annotator.

You just tried the tools above, here's the whole thing in motion, from hotkey to finished annotation.

What it does

Your whole screen, one transparent canvas.

No windows to arrange, no app to switch into. Epic Annotator floats above everything you're already doing.

One hotkey away

A

Summon the overlay from any app, on any screen. Rebind it to whatever you like.

Click-through by default

Your annotations float above your work while clicks pass straight through to the apps beneath. Drawing never interrupts doing.

Every display, every Space

The canvas spans all of your monitors and Mission Control Spaces, annotate the second screen without losing the first.

Ten tools, six colors

Cursor, pen and marker, arrow and line, rectangle and ellipse, text, redaction and an eraser, in six colours and three stroke widths, with undo / redo / clear. Hold Shift to snap to clean angles and perfect squares.

Captions with tone

Drop in text that actually reads, bold, italic, three sizes, bullet or numbered lists, and seven hand-tuned colour tones. Attach one to an arrow to label exactly what you mean.

Redact before you share

Pixelate or black-box anything private, names, emails, a customer dashboard, before it leaves your screen. Redactions are baked into the image, never just painted on top.

Capture, copy, save

Flatten your annotations onto the screen beneath, then copy straight to the clipboard or save a PNG. What you pointed at is exactly what they get.

A blank whiteboard

Want a clean slate instead of your desktop? Open an opaque whiteboard and use the very same tools to sketch an idea from scratch.

Insights that keep count

A quiet dashboard tracks how long you've annotated, your sessions, and a day-by-day streak, so the habit has somewhere to live.

Menu bar or Dock, your call

Summon everything from a quiet menu-bar item. Keep the Dock icon for one-click access to your dashboard, or switch it off and stay menu-bar-only.

Private by default

Annotations are ephemeral and your usage stats stay on your Mac, never sent off-device. No account, no cloud sync, nothing to sign up for.

Signed & notarized

Developer ID–signed with the hardened runtime, notarized by Apple, and kept current with automatic updates via Sparkle.
